How about the other wonders of nature
on Mauritius? We recommend a visit to Chamarel. Chamarel
is also the name for volcanic rock that appears in 7
different shades to provide unique color to the earth.
At the village of Chamarel there is a huge waterfalls
coming over cliffs made of this colorful rock . It
really is beautiful and one of those Kodak moments we
all like to add to our albums. It almost seems a trip
back in time to take in the natural wonder of this
little spot of heaven on earth.
Near there, you will find the Riviere Noire district
which is home to the Casela Bird Park and Nature
Preserve. The brag of showing over 140 different species
of birds from all over the world. Included is the star
of the show the Pink Pigeon. Once near extinction, a
fate the native Dodo bird suffered, the Pink Pigeon is
recovering and graces the park with it's plumage. The
preserve has a small zoo as well with an assortment of
animals to visit and entertain the kids.
These are but a few of the attractions on Mauritius
